Why are we here?
We are committed to improving and protecting the health of Oregonians on the Oregon Health Plan (OHP) and/or Medicare, that choose CareOregon as their health plan.
What is the Oregon Health Plan?
The Oregon Health Plan is the state’s Medicaid program paid for by federal and state taxes. Benefits and coverage are determined by the state, based on budget decisions made by the legislature. CareOregon serves OHP members in 17 counties.
What is Medicare?
Medicare is the federal program providing health benefits for seniors and disabled members. CareOregon provides Medicare Advantage programs to people on Medicare (through CareOregon Advantage Star HMO-POS) and people eligible for both Medicaid and Medicare (through CareOregon Advantage Plus HMO-POS SNP).

How Does CareOregon Work with OHP to Serve You?
Eligibility:
Limited-income Oregonians may be eligible for one of the Oregon Health Plan (Medicaid) programs administered by
Department of Health Services.
All applications come from the state. Call 1-800-359-9517 to receive an application or to reapply.
What's special about Oregon Health Plan:
The following are examples of what may be covered by OHP. CareOregon members do not have a copayment requirement.
- Prescription drug coverage
- Routine annual physical/preventative care
- Vision exam
- Family planning services
- Maternity, prenatal and newborn services
CareOregon Advantage
Available in the following Oregon counties:
Clackamas, Clatsop, Columbia, Jackson, Josephine, Marion, Multnomah, Polk and Washington.
Eligibility:
If you have Medicare coverage, live in the covered counties and don’t have End Stage Renal Disease (ESRD) you are eligible to join CareOregon Advantage.

- $0 Copay for diabetic testing supplies
- $0 Copay for lab tests
- Vision exam and eyeglasses coverage
