Breaking the Cycle of Poverty – Promoting Health Equity

CO-Avatar.sflb.ashx

CareOregon’s Community Benefit Program represents our commitment to give back a share of our earnings to our members and to the communities where they live. We do this through community partners who have shown the ability to improve the lives of our members and the health of communities we serve.

CareOregon’s Adaptive Fund provides support to community partners to recognize both the importance of partnership and the need to build capacity. Adaptive fund support will focus on support to culturally specific organizations, organizations and programming increasing health equity, and programming addressing the social determinants of health. Sponsorship requests for events will also be accepted and prioritized to provide support for community facing events engaging the Medicaid and Medicare populations.

Our larger Development Investments are intended to create a shared learning environment that can both provide our partners important resources and involve key CareOregon staff in the learning process. Together, we hope to both fund important work and increase our collective impact. See a list of our latest grant recipients here.

We are committed to focusing our resources on targeted populations within our membership that are the most challenging to serve. Our community benefit process will focus on improving health equity and will view all investment applications with a preference for those that address health disparities.

CareOregon grant funding is closed for 2018. Information on 2019 priorities will be available by February 2019.

Who can apply

CareOregon will consider Development Investment and Adaptive Fund requests from tax exempt organizations with programs or services within Oregon. We prioritize requests from areas where we have members – Multnomah, Clackamas, Washington, Columbia, Clatsop, Tillamook and Jackson Counties.

In 2018, requests from organizations for programs or services having the greatest impact on Housing (Spring 2018) and ACEs (Fall 2018) will be prioritized.

In addition to Development Investments focused on priority areas, CareOregon will focus Adaptive Fund requests on support to culturally specific organizations, organizations and programming increasing health equity, and programming addressing the social determinants of health.

How to apply

Development Investments

Development Investments in Fall 2018 will be focused on programming having the greatest impact on issues related to preventing, identifying and responding to children's trauma (ACEs). Specifically, CareOregon will prioritize support to programming designed to increase the provision of culturally specific and trauma informed services and programming especially in education, social services and healthcare.

Development Investment grants are closed for 2018.
Please check back in early 2019 for information on CareOregon’s 2019 grant priorities.
