Mom and Daughter at the doctor's officeCareOregon works with legislators and regulators at the local, state and federal level to make sure Oregonians have access to quality health care. We make clear the benefit of community-based health care through the success of our work with Jackson Care Connect, Health Share of Oregon, and Columbia Pacific CCO.

CareOregon advocates for policy development that helps achieve the triple aim goals upon which Oregon’s innovative coordinated care model was founded:

  • Better health care experiences for the individual
  • Better health for the whole of a population
  • Reduced costs within the health care system

Over the years, this work has culminated in our support for the Affordable Care Act as well as critical input from CareOregon throughout the establishment of the Coordinated Care Model.

Our work in public policy advocacy continues through our support of recent legislative efforts to bring transparency and accountability to CCOs. We also will continue to support the “CCO 2.0” effort through engagement with the Oregon Health Policy Board and the Oregon Health Authority through the end of 2018.
