CareOregon champions healthy communities
Since 2020, CareOregon has invested more than $110 million to strengthen the regional system that treats mental health and substance use disorder.
Bringing people together to drive change
Recovery begins with community. That’s why Columbia Pacific CCO, part of the CareOregon family, hosts a yearly Substance Use Disorder Summit that brings together clinicians, educators, elected officials, emergency personnel, parents and others whose lives are touched by substance use disorder. Attendees learn ways to support friends and neighbors struggling with addiction.
Investing in more mental health specialists
Mental health and addictions specialists are vital to solving the state’s mental health and substance crisis. Yet Oregon faces a shortage of workers across the field. Pay is a major issue. So, in 2022, CareOregon invested more than $73 million statewide in our behavioral health network to improve recruitment, retention and job satisfaction.
Addressing the overdose crisis
The rise in overdose rates is one of our most critical health issues. CareOregon is funding multiple projects and supplies to help address the overdose crisis, including the support of Zero Overdose response teams at Central City Concern, and the large-scale distribution of naloxone, which can reserve overdoses and save lives.
