For years, CareOregon has been honored to partner with the Native American Youth and Family Center (NAYA) and Oregon’s nine federally recognized Tribes to support the health and well-being of Native communities. We’ve worked alongside NAYA to invest in programs that provide culturally responsive care, reinforce self-sovereignty and ensure access to essential health services.
Karl Berry has been a cherished part of CareOregon for nearly 23 years. When asked why he’s stayed so long, Karl's answer is simple: It’s the people and the mission that make CareOregon feel like home. Karl deeply values the organization’s commitment to innovation and its genuine care for both employees and members.
Karl vividly recalls being at work and finding out that his father had passed away. Immediately, his fellow CareOregonians rallied around him, providing comfort and a shoulder to lean on. The outpouring of compassion allowed him to feel truly cared for, showing him the organization’s deep sense of community.
For Karl, CareOregon is more than just a workplace. It’s a beacon of hope and support for the community, and a place where he has formed lasting bonds and friendships.
