Our SPIRITED values guide CareOregonians in how we work, whether independently or with others. If you apply, we’ll evaluate your skills and experience. But we’re also looking for candidates who align with our values. These eight values are central to the CareOregon culture.
Act to benefit others and our communities
Embrace challenges and live our purpose
Empowered to indentify and make changes
Jointly commit to exceptional achievements
Curious, going beyond the status quo
Respect, support and cooperate with others
Treat everyone fairly and without bias
Respect and embrace individual differences
We’re a largely work-from-home organization, but we prioritize helping staff remain connected. We keep communication going with frequent All staff meetings, periodic optional in-person events and a weekly employee newsletter. We offer other opportunities to get involved, too, like group volunteer activities.
The CareOregon culture embraces staff input. Our senior leadership team listens to employees – and takes action based on what they hear. Each year, a high percentage of staff members complete an anonymous Employee Engagement Survey. The annual survey has influenced many CareOregon policies and benefits, such as instituting sabbatical leave, observing additional holidays and improving health insurance benefits.
To help employees reach their next level, we offer a tuition assistance program, funds for skills development, and Aspiring Leaders, a pathway for developing leadership skills.
ERGs are CareOregon-sponsored, voluntary, employee-led groups. They build a sense of community and support for one another. Whether the Native, Women in Leadership, Beyond the Binary, Black, African American or other ERG, these groups are one tool we use to advance our equity, diversity and inclusion goals.
CareOregonians love a parade – and we take part in a few every year. Employees come together to decorate our Rose Festival entry, dance along with a float or meet up with members at local festivals. Even sweeter: The company supports our communities through volunteerism, offering employees eight hours of paid volunteer time each year.
Equity, diversity and inclusion (EDI) are deeply embedded in how the CareOregon family operates. We use an equity lens as we endeavor to build a workforce that reflects the communities we serve and that creates rewarding experiences for our staff, members, suppliers, payers and communities. By leading with equity, we ensure all people can achieve to their fullest potential and derive the best benefits from our products and services.
CareOregon greatly encourages military veterans to apply. CareOregon is a major sponsor of the annual Portland Veterans Stand Down and hiring fair.
