When you start at CareOregon, you’ll quickly find that the company lives up to its name. We care about our members and the communities we serve, and we care about our staff. We want you to be happy and successful here. We’ll support you in doing your job well. And we’re mindful of helping you provide a secure present and future for yourself and your family.
After you apply, you’ll get an automated email verifying that we received your application. A recruiter will review it and reach out if they have additional questions. If the hiring manager is interested in interviewing you, we’ll contact you for scheduling.
We encourage candidates to regularly check their application status by logging in to their profile.
Possible status updates are: New application, Thank you for applying, Thank you for applying; please check for other positions, Reviewing candidates, Offer, Pre-hire screenings, In progress and (after being hired) Onboarding.
We typically conduct panel interviews over video conference using Microsoft Teams.
The process to review and interview candidates review and interview process can move at different rates. That’s why we suggest you regularly log into your profile to check your status.
Yes! The application will ask how you heard about the position. Select “Employee Referral” from the dropdown. Add the employee’s name in the “Provide Name” field.
We value referrals from members of the CareOregon family. And, if you’re hired, the referring employee receives a bonus!
In some cases, yes. Certain positions in community-facing or member-facing roles require an immunization review and health screenings. Although cannabis is legal in Oregon, CareOregon is a drug-free workplace, as required by our contracts with the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services.
Good news. You’ll immediately begin accruing paid time off (PTO). You’re eligible to enroll in most benefits – medical, dental, vision, short-term and long-term disability and 401(k) – the first of the month following your hire date.
If you’re full-time, you’ll accrue up to 20 PTO days per year. (That’s in addition to 12 holidays.) Accrual rates increase based on years of service. You’re eligible for pro-rated PTO if you work at least 20 hours per week.
We want you to take and enjoy your earned time off. But if you don’t use all your PTO hours any particular calendar year, your hours will roll over from year to year, without limit.
We observe New Year’s Day, Martin Luther King Jr. Day, Presidents Day (Washington’s Birthday), Memorial Day, Juneteenth, Fourth of July, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day and the day after, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day and a floating holiday that employees can arrange with manager approval.
If you work 20 hours or more weekly, you’re eligible for paid holidays.
We want to support our employees’ security in retirement. We match 100% of the first 2% of your contribution, and half of the next 2%, up to a total 3% match. Matching contributions are 100% vested after three years’ employment.
In addition, we offer offers a 3% safe harbor contribution each pay period. Safe harbor contributions vest immediately.
Our Board of Directors may also choose to make a discretionary 401(k) contribution, decided year by year. The discretionary contribution is also 100% vested after three years with CareOregon.
Employees can contribute to their 401(k) on a pre-tax or post-tax (Roth) basis.
We announced our sabbatical program in 2021 as a way to recognize our staff’s hard work and ongoing commitment to CareOregon. Eligible employees may apply for their choice of four to 12 weeks’ leave. They may apply after five, 10 and 15 years of continued service. The sabbatical leave may be partially or fully paid, depending on the sabbatical level.
Our compensation team conducts annual market reviews, posts pay ranges on open positions and works to offer equitable pay across CareOregon.
Onboarding begins after we receive your returned signed copy of our offer letter. Pre-start steps may involve paperwork and, for some positions, pre-hire health screenings. The recruiting coordinators will reach out to you about requirements before your start date.
Your first day of work will be a Monday that coincides with our twice-monthly orientations for new employees. After you start, you’ll take part in a robust onboarding program.
Our standard business day is 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekdays, Pacific Times. Select positions may require weekend hours; check the job description.
Most positions are work from home, though some are hybrid, office-based, or community/member-facing. Job postings describe the work location. Our physical offices offer shared working spaces—standing desks and conference rooms. Those are available for employees to use.
CareOregon employees who are entirely “work from home” are able to live in an ever-expanding list of states. Check the job posting for specifics. Options may span Arizona, Idaho, Montana, Nevada, Oregon, Texas, Utah, Washington and Wisconsin. We’re always evaluating additional locations.
You can check the status of your application any time by going to your profile. If you have questions that aren’t answered here, we invite you to contact us. Please allow two business days for a response.
