Liver Disease – A MEDS Ed seminar: This session of CareOregon Pharmacy’s MEDS Ed program features interactive discussions on diagnosis, assessment, and management of chronic liver disease from the physician and nurse perspectives, as well as a review of medications used to treat hepatitis C and manage complications of cirrhosis.

  1. 1. Content from Dr. Atif Zaman reviews the causes of chronic liver disease, diagnosis, assessment, laboratory abnormalities of liver disease and common complications of cirrhosis.

Content from pharmacist Maddie Fry highlights how rapidly Hepatitis C treatment has changed in recent years; reviews primary care education points for medications used in Hep C and cirrhosis complications, while identifying medications to avoid in liver disease; AASLD/IDSA Guideline Recommended Regimens for Genotype 1 Treatment Naïve Patients; Pharmacological Management of Cirrhosis-Related Complications.
