Providence members to join CareOregon in 2027
Starting January 1, 2027, Providence will officially join the CareOregon provider network, serving members throughout the tri-county metro area.
Health Share members who are currently enrolled in Providence Health Assurance medical plans will automatically move to CareOregon on January 1, 2027. Members don’t need to do anything for now, and they can keep seeing their providers as usual.
What should I do right now?
Keep getting care from your Providence Health Assurance plan as you normally do. There is nothing you need to do at this time.
Can I keep seeing my doctor?
Yes. Continue seeing your doctor through the end of the 2026. In 2027, most of the doctors from the Providence Health system will move into the CareOregon network.
Do I need to choose a new health plan?
No. If you are currently enrolled in a Providence Health Assurance medical plan from Health Share, your coverage and service will continue without interruption throughout 2026. You will automatically move to CareOregon on January 1.
Will I receive more information?
Yes. Health Share will mail a letter in October with more information about this change. The letter will let you know if you need to do anything else. If you have questions, contact Health Share Customer Service at 503-416-8090.
What should I do if I also have a Medicare Advantage plan with Providence Medicare Dual Plus?
If you have both the Oregon Health Plan and Medicare, your Medicare Advantage plan will automatically change to CareOregon Advantage Plus in 2027.
Can I choose a new Medicare Advantage plan?
If you are a Medicare Advantage member and you would like to change to another plan for 2027, you will need to do so during the Medicare Annual Enrollment Period. That period goes from October 15 to December 7, 2026. To find an agent, visit: https://healthcare.oregon.gov/pages/find-help.aspx
