CareOregon is pleased to announce a new program to support members with complex medication needs across CareOregon/Health Share, Jackson Care Connect, Columbia Pacific CCO and CareOregon Advantage. The effort is specifically focused on helping three categories of members: those with multiple chronic health conditions, those who take several medications, and those who frequently use the emergency room (ER) or hospital. CareOregon is partnering with Genoa Healthcare and Arine, Inc. on this initiative.
The goal of the program is to provide comprehensive support for these members to get the most from their medications, take treatments as prescribed and help avoid unnecessary ER or hospitalizations.
“By expanding pharmacist support through integrated services like Genoa and Arine, we can better coordinate care and meet the needs of patients with complex outpatient medication challenges,” said James Slater, Vice President of Pharmacy at CareOregon.
Genoa Healthcare is a pharmacy that has locations within many clinics in the CareOregon network. They offer delivery and pre-filled pill organizers to make taking medications easier for our members.
Arine, Inc. helps improve how medications are managed and used. It uses advanced technology, including artificial intelligence (AI), to give providers better insights so they can help members get the best results from their medications.
Both Genoa Healthcare and Arine, Inc. have clinical pharmacists who will be providing services to CareOregon members. Members and providers may be contacted by the companies if this program could help them learn more about their medications and how to stick with them.
The program aims to give both CareOregon members and providers additional support to manage complex medication needs and achieve better health.
